RTOS Scheduling Analysis using a Trace Toolkit

The analysis and debugging of real-time systems is a challenge since both the logical behavior and the system dynamics must be understood to identify the problem source. Tracing is a common method for understanding the dynamics of a system and graphical visualization methods can significantly improve the efficiency of such analysis. An open-source based solution is proposed here for graphical presentation of RTOS traces collected from small embedded systems. Generic RTOS trace files are converted to a format understood by the visualizer tool of Linux Trace Toolkit and used on it, profiting from all implemented features for graphical presentation, analysis and statistics of RTOS traces.
