Understanding processes scheduling mechanisms depends on a certain abstraction capability. It would be interesting to have a tool supporting practical activities, which could facilitate the understanding of the various aspects regarding this area. We developed an object model, resulting in an extensible and reusable framework, which models the main components of a computational system. Using this framework, we created a simulator that allows the users configuring and customizing CPU allocation mechanisms, and to evaluate them under different work scenarios.
