Today, autonomous mobile robots are growing their importance in Artificial Intelligence research development. In this field, there are relevant research topics like: maintenance of the robot position, path planning and navigation. In order to implement this kind of tasks, the use of image acquisition systems are increasing. This work presents a new technique to visual robot navigation based on color image correlation. We also discuss about the results we obtained in experiments using real images and the possible application of the proposed method in robot control tasks.
