In the phytoterapics production, a detailed study of the chemical compositionof medicinal plants is a relevant task to guarantee quality control. Thiswork describes a tool that provides automatic support to the classification of medicinalplants according to chemical data. Hierarchical and non-hierarchicalalgorithms are investigated and two new heuristics are proposed. Some casestudies have been developed and here the results achieved are summarised.
