Distributed Software Development (DSD) and Component Based Development (CBD) have been recognized as approaches that have the potential to reduce development time, cost and complexity, as well as to improve the software quality. In such a context, the contribution of this paper is to present an experience report on the adoption of a shared, distributed component repository service, which acts as a support infrastructure for component-based distributed development projects.
