TIPS: Mobilidade IP sobre a Camada de Transporte

Bruno Y. L. KimuraHélio C. Guardia

TIPS (Transparent IP Sockets) is a wrapping for the main functions of the Berkeley Sockets API intended to provide transparent IP Mobility in the application code. Implemented on top of the Transport Layer and in User Space, TIPS allows Horizontal and Vertical Handoffs for both UDP transmissions and TCP connections, as well as client and server migrations (single and double jump). Lossless migrations and lossless data transmissions are also provided. Location information of the mobile terminal is stored in a Distributed Hash Table and is accessible under a hash index proposed as a strategy for terminal/application identification regardless of its locations.
