In the past few years a wide range of software development companies and organizations have invested in software process improvement. There are different standards or reference models that can be applied to achieve this aim. Generally, these models only define goals or structures that a software development process must have in order to excel in the quality of their products, but they don't explain how to design or implement such improvements. In order to fill this gap, the present study attempts to contribute in this area, defining a method for software process improvement using process patterns.
