In this paper, we propose the use of aspect-aware interfaces (AAIs) not just as a documentation resource but also to manage the evolution of aspect-oriented systems. The key idea is that AAIs can be generated in a semi-automatic and incremental way during the weaving process of aspect-oriented systems. Moreover, we propose to check AAIs in order to detect two unwanted situations that might occur when an aspect oriented system evolves: the unintended join point capture and the accidental join point miss.
