A Rules-Based Model Used to Describe Group Dynamics for Games

This paper presents a rules-based model in which virtual agents have different individualities and can acquire social abilities as a function of rewards. Moreover, the agents can group with others they had interacted in past time. The formed groups are characterized based on groups cohesion and also their movement should be differently applied. The problem of capture information from real crowds scenes in order to calibrate the rules is discussed and as solution, we propose the integration with a physics model in order to generate the required data. Some results and discussion about applying this methodology in a combat game are presented.
