Component-Based Development (CBD) and Distributed Software Development (DSD) approaches have been widely adopted and discussed. However, both have limitations related to coordination, cooperation and communication of geographically dispersed teams. In such a context, this paper presents an extension of the ComponentForge framework, which currently provides support to CBD but has limitations related to DSD since does not adopt mechanisms for distributed management of software projects. By integrating DBC and DSD, the proposed extension minimizes issues related to coordination, cooperation and communication of distributed teams.
