This paper presents Policap - a Policy Service to be uiilized for distributed applications that use CORBA security model. Policap was proposed for insertion in the JaCoWeb Security Project. This project is developing an authorization scheme in order to deal with management of security policies in large-scale networks, such as the Internet. The Policap policy service fills in the existing gap in the use of security policies for distributed object programming. The paper further presents the implementation resuits obtained and an evaluation of these resuits based on Common Criteria, ISO standard 15408.
