This paper presents a novel network technology for the next technological transition in telecommunications. Using burst assembly and optical packet switching techniques and optical networking technologies available in the market, the network offers high performance, efficiency and flexibility at low cost. The paper describes the architecture of the network as well as the modules being prototyped for proof of concept. Performance results obtained from computacional simulation experiments are shown and discussed.
