Um Elemento Autonômico para Redes de Sensores Sem Fio

Thais BragaFabrício SilvaLinnyer RuizJosé Marcos Nogueira

Autonomic Networks control and supervise themselves without direc human intervention. In the definition and development of these networks, the smallest part to be built is the Autonomic Element (AE). The design aspects and the functionalities involved with the modelling of an AE influence the perfor mance of managed elements, network and provided services. This article presents the proposal of an Autonomic Sensor Element (ASE) for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). The challenge in this case is to design ASEs that can be executed in environments with severe hardware, software and data communication restrictions and that still can promote productivity of these resources and quality of the services provided by the sensor nodes. Particulary, this work creates an instance of an ASE model considering the Mica Motes 2 sensor nodes platform. The results have shown the relevance of applying autonomic computing in WSNs.
