The systems of information retrieval present an unquestionable complexity in the storage process and search of the information, involving a series of interdependent aspects. Amongst these, the following factors if detach: the electronic technology leads the users to the democratic access to the information extending the search of information in geographically distant databases; the reach of the quality in the retrieval information requires the planning of specific strategies of search for each database. This article presents the proposal of a mechanism of recovery of information in academic documents of UNISC - University of Santa Cruz of the South. The mechanism uses two boardings: quantitative, based in the principle of the inverted lists, and qualitative, based in the information retrieval from terms related in one thesaurus academic.
