Avaliação de Desempenho de Redes Bluetooth usando o Modelo de Captura

Bluetooth is a universal radio interface operating at the 2.45 Ghz ISM (Industrial-Scientific-Medical) band which supports short range ad-hoc wireless networks or piconets with up to eight devices. In these networks, piconets may overlap and a given device may join more than a single piconet. This work looks at the bandwidth performance of Bluetooth medium access protocol, L2CAP, and shows its impact on application layer throughput. The results of both an analytical model and simulations based on signal capture are shown. Next, these results are analyzed and proved to validate each other. Furthermore, the effect of piconets interference on throughput are also presented and discussed.
