The mobile communications systems evolution, with new applications and advanced services, has required a even more efficient use of the scarce frequency spectrum available. This paper presents a new channel allocation scheme that uses information about the space and temporal distributions of traffic over the coverage area for distributing channels in a way to increase the Quality of Service on heavy loaded cells. Simulations results show the efficiency of the proposed scheme (AC-VTE) compared with fixed allocation (AFC) and dynamic allocation (ADC-FA). Simulations were carried out on the tool CELSA and a multidimensional mobility model, which defines different users profiles, attraction areas and time zones during the day, was used.
