This article presents na adaptive algorithm that increase the efficiency of the transmitted voice packets in a network that uses the voice ovre IP, by varying in accordance with the end-to-end delay of the packets. An analysis of the algorithms's performance is done using the "Network Simulator" tool. Simulation results are presented, comparing the performance of current vocoders with those used by the considered algorithm.
