Peer-to-peer networks are more scalable than client-server networks to provide video on demand services. However, one of the challenges in peer-to-peer networks is the sel?sh behavior of non-cooperative users. Another challenge is the short time users stay connected to the system, which causes disruptions of the delivery of time-constrained content. This paper introduces an incentive mechanism to tackle both problems, aiming to increase scalability and the quality of reception as well as to decrease the number of disruptions.
