Proposta e Avaliação de Desempenho de uma Política de Mapeamento de Rótulos Orientada a Controle com Característica Soft-State

The aim of the Label Switching technology is to provide an economical solution to the provision of high speed Internet IP networks. Research effort has concentrated on the issue of number of labels used and its minimization. There are mainly two label mapping policies. One of them is the data-driven label mapping policy and the other one is the control-driven label mapping policy. In this study, it is done an analytical model assumption of both conventional label mapping policies and a comparison between them is showed. Then, it is evaluated the required number of labels under each of these two label mapping policies. The evaluation shows that the data-driven and the control-driven label mapping policies require a large number of labels. In order to reduce this number, it is proposed a new label mapping policy based on the combination of the two conventional label mapping above. This is a control-driven label mapping that has the soft-state characteristic of the data-driven one. The evaluation shows that the proposed label mapping policy requires less labels than the others conventional label mapping policies while offering the advantages of being a control-driven label mapping.
