Java distributed applications used in high-available systems require validated fault tolerance mechanisms, to avoid unexpected behavior during execution. Jaca is a fault injection tool to experimentally validate Java applications. In its first version, Jaca had three fault classes, based on interface faults. This work presents an expansion of Jaca���s fault model to communication faults. This extension allows the use of Jaca to conduct validation experiments in distributed systems.
