In this paper we propose a new medium access mechanism for the HomePNAv2 and v3 standards. This mechanism uses a priority aggregation mechanism to avoid collisions, increasing these protocols throughput. First, we analyze the throughput of the two protocols using the ns-2 network simulator. Then, we also implement the proposed mechanism in the simulator. Results show that the proposed mechanism is able to increase the throughput up to 44% for the HomePNA v2, and 36% for the HomePNAv3. Moreover, we also compare the use of the proposed mechanism with these two standards.
