Probability Density Function of Firm Real-Time Transactions Success Ratio

The performance criterion generally used in real-time database systems (RTDBSs) is the transactions success ratio. In this paper, we present an analysis of firm RTDBS success ratio where we investigate the influence on the system performances of the scheduling policy, and the database workload under two main concurrency control protocols. For this purpose, we have designed and implemented an RTDBS simulator with some components being stochastic,in order to carry out Monte Carlo simulations. This study enabled us to obtain the complete behavior of the transactions success ratio. Moreover, we provide a regression model that fits the transactions success ratio probability density function parameters.
