Specification of a Predictive Adaptive Bandwidth Allocation Algorithm for Stream Smoothing in a Real Time Environment

Communication between distributed tasks is well suited in real-time applications. The increasing amount and complexity of data exchanged challenges for better techniques on utilization of resources, such as the use of bandwidth in streaming media traffic over network channels. Smoothing approaches such problems, for static pre-recorded media, as well for in vivo streams transferred under hard/firm real-time constraints. This paper specifies a predictive adaptative algorithm, based on well-known static smoothing techniques and sliding window mechanisms.
