Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) management is a task that aims to optimize resources consumption and guarantee the quality of provided services. WSNs present severe restriction of resources like bandwidth, computational capacity and energy reserve. Therefore, the adopted management strategy must be efficient in order to do not impact negatively the network functioning. In this work we have evaluated analytically five approaches of management data collection and processing, which vary according to distribution and processing locality. The results have shown that the approaches that adopt some kind of parallel processing turned out to be more efficient considering response time. Regarding the energy consumption and number of sent bytes, the distributed approaches with processing migration were more interesting.
