In an effort to propose an application and introduce a new insight in peer-to-peer (p2p) research, this paper describes Stella: a decentralized backup system based on structured and unstructured peer-to-peer networks. Stella proposes a new way to connect nodes based on its relative relevance and shows that is possible to use the best of the two most used p2p models to build a most efficient and cohesive solution.
