This work presents an approach to improve the interaction process between one GIS (Geographic Information System) and its users. To do this, one inference layer process (1) ontologies composed by the concepts that are manipulated by the SIG and (2) ontologies that represent the knowledge of the SIG users. We have done one case study with the SWIGG, one GIS that is used to environmental studies on the petroleum and gas productive areas.
