Carlos S. S. MarinhoEmanuel F. CoutinhoJosé S. Costa FilhoLeonardo O. MoreiraFlávio R. C. SousaJavam C. Machado

Cloud computing emerges as an alternative to promote quality ofservice for data-driven applications. Database Management Systems mustbe available to support the deployment of cloud applications resorting todatabases. Many solutions use database replication as a strategy to increaseavailability and decentralize the workload of database transactions betweenreplicas. By the distribution of database transactions between replicas, loadbalancing techniques improve the computational resources utilization. However, several solutions use the current state of the database service in makingdecisions for the distribution of transactions. This paper proposes a predictiveload balancing service for replicated cloud databases.
