Uma Técnica de Solução Transiente para Modelos de Filas Fluido

Fluid models has received increasing attention in the literature due to the computational gains to obtain the desired solution with respect to traditional methods. These gains can be attributed, for instance, to the drastic difference among the rate of the events in the model, common in queueing models fed by traffic from multimedia applications. Markov reward models is one of the main tools that can be employed in the queueing model solution. In these models, reward rates are associated to the states and/or impulse rewards are attributed to the transitions between two states. One of the most important measures to be considered in order to properly size a network under study and evaluate the quality of service offered to the applications is the transient distribution of buffer occupancy. We developed a new algorithm to calculate this measure using impulse rewards. The algorithm has computational advantages when compared to other transient solution techniques found in the literature.
