This paper presents a comparative study using envelope processes which are suitable for multifractal traffic modeling. Envelope processes have been used to define minimalist traffic models. An extensive validation process was carried out. Results indicate that an envelope process based on the standard deviation of the multifractal Brownian motion process accurately models multifractal traffic.
