This paper presents the development of an assistant to support usability inspection for Web applications - APIU. The development was based on the execution and analysis of results of experimental studies. The objectives of this paper are: to explain the experimental studies and the quantitative and qualitative analysis of each study. The qualitative analysis was based on procedures of two complementary techniques - The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Grounded Theory (GT). We also presented the evolution of APIU based on improvements suggested by the studies' results.
