This paper discusses the development of an IP core specified to implement slave nodes for the LIN automotive network. The IP core was designed applying the ipPROCESS methodology, including the phases of Conception, Architecture, RTL Design and Prototyping. It was validated with functional verification and physical prototyping in FPGA. After that, it was synthesized to a .35 ?m ASIC technology. The obtained results show that the developed IP core is smaller than some commercial solutions which implements both LIN master and slave functionalities.
