Task allocation is a fundamental decision-making process in project planning. Its complexity increases in a Distributed Software Development context, in which additional factors must be considered, as cultural differences and time zone differences. These factors will influence in project communication, coordination and control costs. Given this scenario, organizations need support to analyze several allocation possibilities and to visualize their impact on their projects. For this reason, we performed a systematic mapping, which enabled the identification of task allocation models which propose to solve the problems of task allocation in DSD projects.
