CARACTERIZAÇÃO DE MICROCALCIFICAÇÕES ESPICULARES EM MAMOGRAFIAS

Aledir Silveira PereiraKaori Yamaguchi

Tumors in breasts can be malignant (cancer) or not malignant. In this stage of the researchmethods had been developed, as well as specified and implemented more two modules of programs ofcomputer for the characterization of mamogramm microcalcifications. Through this system the rugousforms (type 4) and in formation are detected that not definite forms (type 3) as well as the density of its grouping still present. Therefore, in previous work, already methods for characterization of the types had been implemented to curl (type 1), vermiform (types 5) and smooth edges (type 2). The microcalcifications of rugous forms are those with edges that remember circles, but possess irregular aspects. Being that 23% correspond the not malignant injuries and 66% to the malignant injuries. Already the grouping of small microcalcifications is small elements that still do not present a definite form and the malignant probability is of 50%.
