This paper describes museuVirtual, which is a project that is developing an authoring tool for collaborative building of museums in virtual reality. The authoring tool allows a group of learners that is geographically dispersed to build together a virtual museum through the Internet. The museums produced by the tool may be organized in rooms with different exhibitions where 3D objects can be exposed and are available to be directly explored.
