This paper presents and adaptive filtering technique using wavelet Transforms based on the Haar wavelet and its potential use on data processing for scientific visualization by means of virtual reality. This technique is based on the property of location inherent to two-dimensional Wavelet Transforms and minimizes high frequency or signal noises of images without altering the limits or bordes of the objects contained in them.
