In many distributed virtual reality systems (DVRS), replicas of avatars are remotely repositioned using mechanisms, such as dead-reckoning, which provide some degree of posicional and behavioral accuracy. However, only a few DVRS can deal with the structural accuracy of an avatar and its remote replicas, mainly because of the complexity and conflicting tradeoffs that structural accuracy involves. This paper proposes a mechanism which supports structural accuracy to local and remote rendering with less cost to message traffic and processing time.
