This paper focuses on the use of the CORBA (Commom Object Request Broker Architecture) platform, used as a middleware layer for supporting distributed virtual reality applications. The applications considerated are specially those developed by the WorldToolKit Software. Some results of an application implemented with the ILU (Inter-Language Unfication), a software compatible with the CORBA platform, are also discussed.
