This article explores the use of Virtual Reality and its features in the computer based learning process. The proposal is to develop a virtual environment where students could perform virtual activities in electronics, which can be done either at the university or through the Internet, with the aim of solidifying the theory learned in the classrom and the familiarizing the students with the activities in the real world. The project uses of VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) to model the virtual environment and EAI ( External Authoring Interface) to exchange information between the virtual environment and an external programa, such as an applet Java, which is one of the ways the user has to modify the virtual scene.
