IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DE UM PONTEIRO 3D PARA DESKTOP USANDO RASTREAMENTO ÓPTICO

3D interaction devices are essential tools todemonstrate the diverse and innovative interaction formsthat virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR) applicationsmay offer. When users interact with a virtual scenario, theinteraction tools need to make them feel that the real worldwhere they are has a connection with the virtual scenariothey are looking at. This is the context of this work, thatbrings the functionality of a laser pointer to a virtualscenario. By means of the implementation of an opticaltracking system, a pen with two markers is tracked and theray generated by the pen's direction is used as a 3D pointerthat intercepts the virtual scenario, through the monitor atthe user's desktop. This experience shows how a physicaldevice, initially designed for 2D interaction may be modeledfor a VR or AR application, where the interaction occurs in3D space.
