Augmented Reality solutions for general-purposedevices like computers and handhelds are underdevelopment. Since the processing is all done by software,the real-time result is hard to be reached without resolutionand frame rate reduction, demanding high clock frequencies,and as a consequence a higher cost and energy consumption.This paper describes the ARCam project that proposes aField Programmable Gate Array based platform forAugmented Reality applications, being a dedicated hardwaresystem. In order to demonstrate its utilization a case studyhas been performed with the Pong game.
