This paper presents a study of interaction taskscontained in medical imaging visualization systems.Based on this study, a device was developed forinteraction in medical imaging visualization virtualenvironments. This device combines the advantagesof direct mapping of the actions of the user tointeract in a virtual environment with a methodfor input values through a multi-touch sensor. As aresult, despite the users spend more time to completethe tasks in the virtual environment, in terms ofaccuracy the device was as effective as the desktopinterface.
