We present a camera-projection system for single- or multipartytelepresence which allows for correct eye gaze, andunlike standard videophony, provides a great deal of spatialcontext.The unique feature of our system is a combination of omnidirectionalvideo capture and display from correspondingprojection centers. In essence, this creates a virtual overlapbetween the screen and the camera, which results in the participantlooking directly into the camera whilst looking atthe display. The novelty in this approach is that we correcteye gaze without the need of interpolating multiple views.With a given external calibration of the camera-projectorsetup, the mapping used for this system has to be calculatedonly once. This makes it possible for the algorithm tobe implemented on commodity hardware and the GPU.
