This paper overviews general features for an educational and/or training 3D Virtual Environments (VE). It emphasizes the differences of each of these approaches to help authors better describe their systems and to ease developers identify relevant functionalities. The features highlighted were gathered from a survey of related VEs where conceptual and practical issues could be identified in order to differentiate them.
