An Architecture to Support the Exchange of Clinical Knowledge Among Medical Communinty via Internet

An architecture to support the development of Electronic Health-care Systems (EHS) integrated to a Knowledge Manager System (KMS) is proposed in this paper. The proposed architecture enables the exchange of clinical data and knowledge among the medical community via the Internet. Web Services, XML and SOAP are the web technologies used to implement the knowledge ex-change between an EHS and a KMS. A decision tree is used in the Computer-aided Diagnostic System (CaDS) as a knowledge inductor to support and enable integration. Results are also presented from a designed minimum requirement EHS and KMS which were implemented to store data from patients suffering from acute abdominal pain.
