The use of Internet in the classroom has been a challenged to teachers of English as a second language. Nowadays, different electronic genres such as e-mail, chat, personal ads and homepages have been used in the classroom. The use of these genres makes possible the students to put in practice the use of the English language, specially trying to develop a collaborative approach. In this paper will be present an online English course - WebEnglish - elaborated at the Federal University of Santa Maria.
