This work shows a pricing scheme for broadband Internet traffic basedon user behavior during the day which could be fair to users and profitablefor Internet Service Provider (ISP). The design of this scheme is driven by theresults of a recent characterization of broadband traffic logs from an ISP withrespect to user behavior. The validation and the comparison of the scheme withpreviously proposed ones are carried out with trace-driven simulation. The resultsof experiments show that the scheme leads to significant bandwidth savingsand benefits to users and ISP, when compared to the other schemes analyzed.
