The State Machine Replication is one of the most interesting techniquesto build reliable and safe services. This paper presents an experimental evaluationover a set of protocols for Byzantine Fault-Tolerant state machine replicationthat are practical. The evaluation is done in order to verify situations onthat alternative coordination models are more attractive than message passingto implement Byzantine Fault-Tolerant services. For that, microbenchmarks andmacrobenchmarks were done in order to compute latency and throughput measures.
