This paper reports an experience consisting in the application of an electronic dictionary of multi-word, idiomatic, intransitive, verbal expressions of European Portuguese, to large-sized corpus, using finite-state methods and lexicon matrices. It aims at quantifying the advantages and limitations of this method.
