One major problem in cognitive radio networks is the dynamic availabilityof spectrum access opportunities. The cognitive radios access the licensedspectrum without priority with respect to the licensed radios. Thus, therouting protocols of the secondary network may suffer instabilities generated byfrequent link disruptions. This work studies this problem and presents a newrouting protocol, named RoAD. This protocol discovers routes with high availabilityin cognitive radio networks aiming at hindering the impact of frequentlink disruptions. We evaluate the proposal through simulations and compare its'performance to other solutions.
