Uma Aplicação de PSO na Qualidade da Energia Elétrica

Electrical Power Systems Quality refers to any problem observed in the voltage, current or frequency. The voltage and current waveforms from an Electrical Power System (EPS) are not considered pure sinusoids due to the presence of, amongst others, the harmonic distortion. This work presents an ap- proach based on the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method for the harmo- nic component estimation in an EPS. PSO is a technique of search/optimization modeling the social behavior observed in many species of birds, schooling fish and even human social behavior. The technique uses a population of particles to search inside a multidimensional search space. The objective of the PSO is to adjust the speed and position of each particle, seeking for the best solution within the search space. The results demonstrate that the method can preci- sely identify the harmonic components in the distorted waveforms and it shows considerable advantages if compared to the most common algorithm for this purpose, the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). Groupware is evolutionary and has specific difficulties of development and maintenance. Its code normally becomes unstructured and difficult to evolve. In this paper, a groupware development approach based on components organized according to the 3C collaboration model is proposed. In this model, collaboration is analyzed based on communication, coordination and cooperation. Collaboration requirements, analyzed based on the 3C model, are mapped onto software components, also organized according to the model. The proposed approach is investigated as a case study to the development of the new version of the AulaNet environment. The environment’s code currently suffers from the aforementioned problems. In order to instantiate the environment’s communication services, 3C based component kits were developed for the case study. The components allow composition, re-composition and customization of services to reflect changes in the collaboration dynamics.
